NOTE: Colour stickers/samples may vary on different surfaces depending on texture, grain, porosity and type of wood. Always test on a small area work surface and let it dry thoroughly to determine the colour required.

Preparation & Application
• Getting Started: Prepared the necessary tools. Clean the wood thoroughly, make sure it is free of wax or other contaminants.
• Fill Cracks and Holes: Fill cracks or holes with WOOD-KARE Aqua Wood Filler of similar or nearest colour to the wood. Let it dry and sand lightly to get an even surface. Clean away sanding dust.
• Apply Gel Stain: Wipe on WOOD-KARE Aqua Gel Stain in circular motion with a lightly damped sponge or lint-free cloth (or brush on with a fine bristle brush). Spread as far as possible to fill up the wood pores evenly, always in the direction of the wood grain.
NOTE: To avoid lap marks, finish staning entire work surface continuously before any section dries.
• Remove Excess: Wipe off excess immediately with a dry cloth. Wipe in the direction of the wood grain to obtain a smooth and evenly distributed finish. Leave to dry for about half an hour.
• Apply Sanding Sealer: Brush on 1 coat of WOOD-KARE Aqua Sanding Sealer. Leave dry and sand lightly with 280-320 grit sandpaper.
• Apply Top Coat: For interior use, brush or spray on 2-3 coats of WOOD-KARE Aqua Top Coat. Leave dry and sand lightly between coats with 280-320 grit sandpaper. Finish available: Gloss, Satin & Matt.
• For Exterior Use: It is recommended to use /WOOD-KARE Aqua Ultra Top as finishing coat if Aqua Gel Stain is applied on outdoor wooden furniture or fixtures.

Usage & Coverage
• Wipe On Method: Wipe on 1 coat for a classic hand-rubbed semi-transparent look. Stain penetrates deep to bring out the glorious wood grain.
• Brush On Method: Brush on 2 coats for a smooth solid colour appearance. Let dry between coats.
• Concentration & Dilution: If gel stain is too concentrated, it can be diluted with water at NOT MORE THAN 20%  of the gel stain volume, and stirred well.
CAUTION: Excessive use of water will cause the gel stain to turn white / crawling.
• Beauty & Protection: It is recommended for gel stained surfaces to be protected with WOOD-KARE Aqua Top Coat, a water based polyurethane finish. It will dry crystal clear, allowing the beauty of the wood grain to show; and it helps resist damage from abrasion, scratching, peeling, chipping as well as from common household chemicals and liquids.
• Coverage Area: WOOD-KARE Aqua Gel Stain provides about 2 times more coverage than liquid oil stains.
1 coat application = 250-350 sq.ft (23-28 sqm) per kg (Area varies depending on porosity and type of wood.)
• Shelf Life: 2 years from production date in unopened container.
